Homerton Weekly Bulletin 8 March 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

A very big thank you to all of you who baked, and bought cakes, and to Tracey’s sister Sharon for running the stall. The cake stall raised a fantastic £190.90 which we have already planned to spend on improving our outside book area. We are going to buy a couple of extra-large bean bag type seats for the children to enjoy sharing stories on. We are also buying some of the Julia Donaldson stories which the children love – to add to our range of Core Stories.

I hope you have heard the good news that Maintained Nursery Schools, such as Homerton, have now had their funding extended to July 2020. This is a direct result of all the support you gave to us by signing the Save Nursery School petition recently. There will be a further announcement about our funding beyond July 2020 after the Autumn Spending Review….and Brexit! Again a big thank you for all your support with this.

This week the children have all been enjoying pancakes and sharing the Mr Wolf story that we mentioned in the Newsletter. Rinchen, one of our parent governors, has been working on the more exciting format for the Newsletter for us – so thank you to her and I hope you all enjoyed reading it.
