Partnerships

“Thank you for being so helpful, supportive and wonderful during my time at Homerton! It has been a real pleasure working with you and all the staff at the nursery.”
PGCE student, Faculty of Education

Partnership work with the other Cambridge Maintained Nursery Schools

We work in close partnership with the other  maintained Nursery Schools in Cambridge, sharing practice, expertise and training opportunities where possible.

University Partnerships

We work closely with Cambridge University Faculty of Education delivering training to their post graduate trainee teachers. The photo below is of a trainee being observed by her tutor as she and the children search for frogs and newts in our pond.

“We have valued our links with your extraordinary nursery for many years. Countless trainee teachers have benefited from learning about your wonderful practice which is so firmly centred on meeting the needs of young children and giving them the best possible start in life. We are so pleased that our partnership with you continues to flourish and are truly grateful for the excellent work you do, both for young children and our next generation of teachers.” Harriet Rhodes, Affiliated Lecturer, Faculty of Education

In the Autumn Term we also deliver training to masters students from University College London.

We also welcome visiting academics from around the world if they wish to come and see our centre.

School Partnerships

Primary School Partnerships

We work closely with our local primary schools to ensure that children are fully supported as they move on from nursery into their reception year at our local primaries. Reception teachers often arrange to visit us and have a play with the children here asking about favourite activities and interests.

Secondary School Partnerships

We support our local secondary school children in offering them voluntary work or work experience placements here with us usually when they are in years 9-11.

16+ Partnerships

We also work closely with our local sixth form colleges, and with other training providers, to offer early years training and qualifications such as Teaching Assistant qualifications and apprenticeships.
