Message from the Head Teacher:

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you all had a good half term.  Holiday club was very popular and children seem to have had a lovely time again – they made some beautiful clay models the day I popped in to see them. Thank you to Mel and staff team who ran the club this time.

A really huge Thank you to all of you for returning the Really Wheelie sponsor forms and donations. Due to your amazing generosity we have raised over £1300, which will not only pay for a defibrillator for the Centre, but also for the Claytime artists to visit and perform for us on 19th July.

Our language of the half term is Turkish so children will be learning to count and say a few words and phrases in Turkish.  Thank you to Alexander and Alessia’s Mum in South Room for providing us with a Lentil soup recipe to make…do try it out! Please see attachment for more information.

This half of term always goes by very fast and children are having a great time enjoying our beautiful gardens and all the activities on offer both outside and in our rooms. Some of the primary school teachers from future schools will be visiting in the coming weeks to meet your children and the Nest children will continue to come and visit the Nursery regularly in readiness for next year.

This term we are also lucky to have quite a number of work experience students with us from secondary schools and sixth form colleges.

Our fantastic teacher trainee Bea is finishing on Friday and I am sure you will join me in thanking her for all her ideas and activities over recent weeks. We wish her well as she moves to Shelford Primary.
