Homerton Weekly Bulletin October 7th 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

The children have enjoyed having Rachel doing music with them over the last couple of weeks.  She follows an approach to music teaching and learning known as ‘Colourstrings’ – do look it up to see the way children start to learn about music with her.

With Autumn arriving some classes have also been doing conker rolling, in shallow trays, with different coloured paints which is always a fun activity to try at home too.

Our Core Book this half term is Owl Babies by Martin Waddell.  We chose it as it reassures children that parents always return to them. Your child should know the story quite well by now so you might enjoy reading the attached  sheet with them.  It highlights some of the vocabulary used in the story.

Jacqui in West Room is also planning to video herself reading it, with props, so we shall send that out to you shortly.

Just to let you know also that we have had two confirmed Covid cases, as well as lots of colds/coughs and diarrhoea so please if your child is unwell please keep them off Nursery.  If they have a persistent cough, high temperature or loss of taste or smell then please get a PCR test.

I’m sure you will support these precautions in order to keep the community as safe as possible and classes open.

If you have anything you would like to discuss with class staff, or myself, then please do email or ring the office on 01223 508766.  Please be aware that some office and class staff work part-time, so they may not respond immediately, but will get back to you as soon as they can.

A gentle reminder please that collection times for the Nursery children are either 3.15pm or 3.45pm.  If you plan to collect at 3.15pm then please let the class and office staff know.

Best wishes and thank you for all your support.
