Homerton Weekly Bulletin 30th September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

I am pleased to say we have now had all our new intake of children into the Centre.

The children are doing really well and becoming used to the routines of the day, as well as getting to know both the staff, and other children, in their classes.

Unfortunately children are also starting to get colds and coughs, so please can we request that you keep them at home if they are feeling ill, in order not to spread it to others.

If they have any of the symptoms of Covid 19, which are a high temperature, persistent cough or loss of taste or smell, then please get them a PCR test, keep them at home, and inform us of the result immediately you get it.

If your child has diarrhea or vomiting then we have a policy of keeping them off Nursery for 48 hours to prevent this spreading to others.

Please ring the Centre on a daily basis if your child is going to be absent.

The weather suddenly seems to have got a lot colder and wetter.  We are following the Government guidance to keep doors and windows open as much as possible and also spend a lot of time outside – so please send your child in with appropriate warm clothes and a good waterproof coat.

One thing which will really help both your children, and staff here, is to encourage them to be as independent as possible.  We find children enjoy, and become really good at doing things for themselves, whether it is toileting, or putting on their own shoes and coats,  hanging up their bags, or using a knife and fork to eat. They just need a little support, encouragement, and above all the opportunity to practice and learn these things.

As always if there is anything you would like to discuss please talk to class staff or myself.

We are all very much enjoying getting to know your lovely children.

With best wishes from all of us at Homerton Nursery

Alex
