Dear Parents

I hope you have all had a good week.

We have had a very special time here at Homerton celebrating the Easter festival with the children.  This has involved lots of cooking of Easter nests, as well as making hats.  Yesterday we enjoyed Easter singing in the garden, accompanied by Rachel on the violin. Some of the songs were Chick, chick chick chick chicken, Humpty Dumpty and Little Peter Rabbit – do ask your children to teach them to you. We ended by singing Hot Cross Buns at which point hot cross buns magically appeared for the children to enjoy!

Thank you very much to everyone for filling in our parent survey your kind and supportive comments are much appreciated by all of us here. We are also reviewing any suggestions made to improve our service to families.

I am pleased to say that we are hoping to have a face to face parent’s evening next term so you can have a more in depth chat about your child’s progress. The provisional date for this is 12th May and it will take place in the garden.

In the meantime if you would like to speak to class staff please do arrange a convenient time with them. Staff do have weekly planning time out, so this would be the opportunity for longer conversations with you.

I am sure you will appreciate it is harder for staff to speak at any length at the drop off and pick up times.

Can I request that you stick to set pick up times at the end of the day. It is very hard for us maintaining staff ratios if they need to take children to the door during class time.

I am attaching some information on a Makaton baby signing course which you may be interested in attending.

Please remember if your child tests positive for Covid in the coming days to contact me so I can alert other parents, my email is Head@homerton.cambs.sch.uk.

The new term starts on Monday 12th April so we look forward to seeing you all back then.

Wishing you all a very happy Easter break.

Alex and all at Homerton
