Dear Parents and Carers

It was very nice to see so many of you at our weekly zoom on Wednesday. A huge thank you goes to Dong, Jacqui, Mitali and Rachel for making it such a special

and informative zoom based on the Spring Festival known as Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year.  I hope you and your children were able to learn a lot from it.

Here at Homerton we have been doing lots of activities around this theme, cooking noodles, making Chinese lanterns and learning a fan dance which has been a lot of fun.

Please see below two links of Dong playing her traditional Chinese stringed instrument called a Guqin and a demonstration of how to make a Chinese lantern.

You might like to have a go at watching the clip and then making the lantern with your child at home over the half term.

I am also attaching a link to St Pauls arts festival which has lots of ideas for children over the half term break.

I hope you already know it is half term from Monday 15th– Friday 19th February.  The Centre is also closed for staff training on Monday 22nd February.

If your child is currently attending the Centre we will reopen on Tuesday 23rd February.

For those of you at home I shall be sending the planning for the week beginning the 22nd on that day.

Holiday club is running over the half term for children who have requested a place.

Please below information about what to do if your child becomes unwell and tests positive for Covid within 48 hours of last being at Homerton.

Finally if your child is currently attending Homerton invoices for February have been emailed out this week, however, it appears some may not have been received. If your child is attending Homerton at the moment and you usually pay fees, please email office@homerton.cambs.sch.uk if you have NOT received an invoice for February fees this week.

Wishing you all a very happy half term.

Best wishes

Alex and all at Homerton

Dear Parent/Carer

During the February half term holiday it still important that we maintain contact with you for the purposes of contact tracing.

Therefore, we would ask:

  • Where a child tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in our setting, the setting should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
  • if a child tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in our setting, we are asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in our setting.
  • If a child tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), whilst being asymptomatic, within 48 hours of being in our setting, we are asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in our setting.

If your child tests positive for coronavirus (COVID -19) and their symptoms started within 48 hours of last attending our setting, or they are asymptomatic and the test was within 48 hours of being in our setting, please will you notify us as soon as possible via email Head@homerton.cambs.sch.uk

If you will not be available on your usual contact number during February half term, please will you notify us of the best way to contact you.

Best wishes

Alex
