Homerton Early Years Centre – Weekly Bulletin

9th March 2022

Message from the Head Teacher:

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all parents who came to the centre for parent consultations this week.

Sadly, next week Julie Beattie who has worked in the Nest since 2018 will be leaving Homerton to take up a new role in a secondary school.  We would like to thank her for her contribution to Homerton during her time with us and wish her well for the future.

Covid Update: Sadly, we have had two staff and six children testing positive for Covid this week.  Please continue to keep your children at home if unwell for the sake of others – Thank you.

Fun at Homerton this week: Children have enjoyed learning Irish Dancing themselves so they know a little bit about it before watching the display next week:

Children in the Nest have been making pasta from scratch with Antonella:

And construction is always something children enjoy focusing on:

Dates for your diary:

17th March – We will be celebrating St Patricks day, the children will be enjoying an Irish dancing display from Molly, Bernie’s niece during the week.

23rd March – Eggstravaganza – this is a celebration of new life, for parents and children to enjoy together. It takes place in the garden for 15-30 minutes with your child at drop off time. The event is only taking place in the morning, so if your child is in East Blue group and usually starts with us on a Wednesday afternoon please bring them along in the morning for the Eggstravaganza, then return home and attend as usual for the afternoon session. Please put the date in your diaries.

30th March – Easter Raffle.   The centre is now collecting items from families to add to our Easter raffle.  If you would like to donate an item, can you please leave it with the member of the staff at the gate when coming into the centre – before 19/3/22 please! Thank you!

Reminders:

Drop off time in the morning

Please can you try to stick to the drop off times of 8.45-9.15 for the Nursery and 9.00-9.30 for the Nest. That would be much appreciated as it is often difficult for staff to leave what they are doing to collect children from the main entrance – Thank you.

Parenting Course

We have a few spaces left on our fantastic parenting course which is running for 3 sessions – please attend all 3. It is on Tuesdays starting 15th, then 22nd and 29th March from 9.00-11.00am.  If you would like to attend can you please contact Suzy Hughes in the Office Reception.
