Class Trips to Nightingale Park, we need volunteers on the following days so please can you let class staff know if you can help with these dates below – Thank you.
Tuesday 23rd June 9.30am-11.30am – West Room (full time and beginning of week children) Wednesday 24th June 9.30am-11.30am – East Room Thursday 25th June 9.30am-11.30am – West Room (full time and end of week children) Tuesday 30th June 9.30-11.30am South
Nest trips are taking place on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd July
Other dates Monday 15th June – Caterpillars arrive and we watch them turn into beautiful butterflies over the coming weeks as part of our work on understanding Life Cycles Wednesday 15th July – Summer Celebration and Goodbye event for parents and children. Parents are welcome to attend at either 11.00am or 2.30pm (depending on when your child attends). We suggest 11.00am for our Nest children as they tend to rest, or have a quieter time, in the afternoons. Friday 17th July – End of Term Monday 20th-Wednesday 22nd July inclusive – Whole Centre is closed Thursday 23rd July – Friday 14th August Summer Holiday club runs. Forms for this will be emailed out by Mel later on this week

| Reminders and Requests:
Bringing clothes for all weathers to school please
Please can you continue to send your children in to school prepared for whatever weather we may have ie please bring a coat on a daily basis and a sunhat, as sometimes a day can have both hot sun and rain showers. Nightingale Park Trips Please sign up on the sheets outside your classrooms, or speak to class staff, if you are able to help with these trips.
A few other requests are as follows:-
Please leave home toys at home so children don’t get upset if they are lost here.
Please let us know by 10am if your child is coming in late but still requires a lunch.
Please let us know if you are planning to leave Homerton before the end of term so we can ensure we have your child’s Special Book and end of year report ready in time to give you.

| Message from Headteacher
Dear Parents
Over the coming weeks we will be having a number of work experience students working with us in the classes, some of whom actually attended Homerton when they were aged 3-4. It is always great to have them helping with activities and trips and the children particularly enjoy having older children with them.
I am really pleased to say that all the classes have enjoyed going to visit our allotment plot. A big thank you goes to our allotment team of volunteers who have been helping to make the plot ready for the growing season. Children were arriving back at school last week telling me all about their watering activities and the things they had enjoyed seeing growing. Hopefully they will be able to enjoy strawberries and raspberries over the coming weeks. Thank you also to Bob for planting up the pots and flowerbeds around the Centre which are looking beautiful.
Our final Core Book of the year is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This text fits very well with our life cycle project on butterflies, which you will be hearing more about from your children, when they arrive as butterfly eggs next Monday.
Our language of the half term is Arabic. A big thank you to Tamsin for putting together the attached sheet which has lots of fun information for your to share with your children about the Arabic language.

| Some of our Learning this week
The photos this week are from the Megson folk concert which took place last week. It was a really fun event and we were able to learn lots of new songs which we have been singing ever since. Megson are revisiting us with a new set of songs on the 18th June. I am attaching the link to the Red Bird song below, as that was a particular favourite with the children.
