Homerton Early Years Centre – Weekly Bulletin

Message from the Head Teacher: Dear Parents and Carers

During our morning Circle time the child, who is our special ‘Homerton Owl’, for the day, has the opportunity to tell the class about their ‘All About Me Book’. They show photos of their family, and often tell us about their favourite story, or song, which is then read or sung with the whole class. It is a very social time as children enjoy telling each other about the people, and things, that are most important to them. If you have not yet returned your child’s ‘All about Me Book’, please could you do so.

The QR codes for signing up for parent ‘Whats app’ groups are now up on the class windows/Nest gate so please scan the one for your class if you would like to join that group and get to know the other parents.

Now that Autumn is upon us, the class staff have requested if possible that you please bring in conkers, seeds, or other seasonal objects for the children to enjoy in class.

Cauliflower Cards Christmas Fundraiser

Next week the office will be sending out a blank piece of paper for your child to design a picture, to go on a card or mug, if they would like to. Their  design needs to be returned to us by Tuesday 1st November if you would like it made into cards for Christmas, or put onto a mug.  Apologies for mentioning Christmas so early!

Covid/Medical Update: I am pleased to say that so far I haven’t heard of any Covid cases in the Centre.
Topic The Old Orchard Garden

The photos this week are from a trip, taken by East Room children, to our Old Orchard garden. The garden is a peaceful place where children can play and explore in nature.  There is a beautiful Acer tree with rich red leaves and children often enjoy making dens, bark rubbing and listening to birds in The Old Orchard. We sometimes ask for parent helpers to accompany children on these trips, or when visiting our allotment – so if you are able to help at all please let class staff know.
