Message from the Head Teacher:
Dear Parents
I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend.
Next Wednesday is our Bear Hunt interactive Story trail for parents and children in the garden at drop off time between 8.45am-9.30am. Please do put this in your diaries as it is a lovely event for families to enjoy together. If your child doesn’t attend in the morning please do bring them along to enjoy it in the morning and then come back for your usual session in the afternoon.
Just a reminder that our school photographer is here next week and will be in South Room, West Room and The Nest on Tuesday 13th May, East Room on Wednesday 14th May, and the Nest again on Thursday 15th May. Helen is also taking website pictures of the Bear Hunt for us on Wednesday so if any parents do not want to be in the photos for the website then please let me know.
We really appreciated your feedback in the Parent Surveys this year. Thank you for your many kind comments. One of the things we continue to work on is providing healthy and nutritious meals, which children will also enjoy eating. Angela, our lovely cook, has recently introduced two new additions to the menu which went down very well with the children. They were flapjack made with oats, parsnip and coconut, and oat cookies made with butternut squash and cinnamon. By using sweeter vegetables such as parsnips or squash we are able to reduce the amount of sugar in recipes.
Our allotment is in need of some work and today a group of us are going to go and weed and dig it. If there are any parents who are able to help us with giving some time to maintain the allotment please let me know.
We are also looking for parent volunteers who might be interested in running our ‘Messy Play’ sessions for families on a Friday morning 9.30-10.45am from September. If anyone is interested in helping run these sessions in September, or would like to know a little more about what is involved then please come and speak to me.
Finally if anyone is hoping to have a place for their child in Half Term Holiday Club, which runs for four days from Tuesday27-Friday 30th May, then please can you book your child in this week in order that we can plan our staffing. Holiday club always has a lot of fun activities and can be booked for half or full days.
