The East Purple and South Red parents can choose whichever slot suits them best as their children are here for the whole day. Nest parents please come in the morning as some children in The Nest sleep in the afternoon. Wednesday 19th July 2023 – Claytime artists visit Wednesday 19th July 2023 – Term ends |
Reminders and Requests
Wet weather clothing Please continue to send your child with a waterproof coat, even on sunny mornings as the weather is currently so changeable and it often rains later on in the day – thank you.
Parking Thank you to everyone for not parking on the yellow lines your support in keeping children safe is much appreciated. Please also respect that our car park is for staff only, as we have so few spaces, and again need to keep children safe as this is also The Nest entrance.

Message from the Head Teacher:
Dear Parents and Carers
We are sending out Special Books from today so we really hope you all enjoy having these as a memory of this year at Homerton for your child.
We have the exciting news that our Defibrillator has arrived – a big thank you again for all your generous donations towards making this possible.
The remaining money we collected will be used for our Clay artists visit on 19th July.
On the 12th July we have an end of year singing celebration for children and parents to attend. The event takes place in the main nursery garden at 11.00am and 2.30pm. Parents can attend either time but we suggest that Nest, South morning and East Red parents come in the morning, and East Blue and West parents come in the afternoon. East Purple and South Red parents please choose whichever session suits you best. Please enter via the park pond gate.
We will be saying a farewell to two very special members of the team at the end of the term. Angie Ingle who is one of our teaching assistants has been with us for 22 years and is planning to retire but still do some supply for us in the future. Liz Greenhalgh our South Room teacher, who has been with us for 7 years, is starting a new and exciting career with the University Education Department.
I am sure you join me in wishing them all the very best for the future.

Some of our Learning this week
Most of the pictures this week are from the Nightingale park trips that South Room and The Nest have just been on. Everyone had a lot of fun and the children walked there and back really well and listened to safety instructions when crossing the roads etc.
Parachute fun doing the song ‘ Sleeping Bunnies’
Enjoying a story in the willow dome area and going on a treasure hunt
Making sticky book marks and doing some observational drawing of the pond area
Digging out our potatoes back at the Centre
Reading the story of The Hungry Caterpillar, enjoying our wavy obstacle course and picking raspberries at the allotment.

We look forward to welcoming you for next week’s summer singing celebration on 12th July.
Best wishes
Alex and all of us at Homerton
