| Message from the Head Teacher:
Dear Parents
A very big thank you to you all for your support with our Easter Raffle. We were able to raise a fantastic £474 which we are going to use to buy some more challenging equipment for our Nest garden, and some new wooden trucks for our Nursery garden.
Monday was our last visit to Rock Road Library for our Nursery children. I hope that some of you will be able to return to enjoy the books and their beautiful garden in the future. A big thank you to The Friends of Rock Road Library team for all their support with these trips.
This week we have been especially celebrating new life and Easter. Today we not only had the Eggstravaganza, but also enjoyed coming together as a school community to enjoy singing songs about new life and Easter, and eating hot cross buns together! Davina, our music teacher, has also been teaching us all a special chick rhyme which you might like to do at home with your children. It goes like this… Easter Chicks
I’m a little chick (crouch down as if inside egg) Ready to hatch (wriggle) Pecking at my shell (pecking motion) Scratch, scratch, scratch (scratching action) When I crack it open Out I’ll creep (move warily out of shell) Fluff my feathers (stroke arms) Cheep, cheep, cheep! (high pitched cheeping, standing, waggle arms)
I hope that all our Muslim families enjoyed celebrating Eid last week and also our Iranian families were able to enjoy their Nowruz Spring festival celebrations.
Just an update on our chicks, they have all gone to a family from East Room to look after and are doing very well. Hopefully we will be able to send you some pictures as they continue to grow and flourish.
I would like to thank you for all your support this term and we look forward to seeing everyone back at Homerton on Monday 13th April.
