| Message from the Head Teacher:
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for all your help getting children settled into Homerton this half term. As you know next week is half term. If your child is booked into Holiday club it runs Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. Please come to the main entrance by the office to drop off and pick up. Thank you to Mel, Bridget, and all the staff who are helping to run the club this half term.
On Monday 3rd November the Centre is open as our staff training day is now on Wednesday 12th November instead of the original date of the 3rd.
We have an exciting event in the week we return, which is a mini quiet fireworks display, just for the children, during their session on 5th November. This gives us a chance to talk about firework safety for ourselves, and our pets, during a week when children are likely to be seeing and hearing fireworks.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in photos for our Family boards. If you haven’t yet done this then please do as children really enjoying telling us about their family members and chatting about each other’s families and this is often prompted by seeing the photos in the Centre.
After half term we will be starting to do some work on our Language of the half term with the children. Each half term we choose a language to focus on and children learn to say a few words in that language and do some counting. I will let you know in the next bulletin what the language will be as it is reflective of our school community and the most common languages spoken by the children who attend Homerton.
We are also enjoying teaching each child a British Sign Language sign each week, so please do ask your children about this. The sign this week is appropriately for ‘play’ and ‘time’. A big thank you to Tracey and everyone who has brought in and bought books today we have so far raised over £300 which is fantastic. Your generosity is much appreciated. The book sale will continue until Thursday so please do keep buying! Any funds raised will go towards getting an air conditioning unit in our kitchens which get so hot over the summer months.

| Medical Update/Covid:
Unfortunately Covid cases do seem to be on the rise again so please keep your children off if they are unwell as we want to limit the spread of any illnesses. We have also had a case of Chicken pox reported in the Nest.
