Homerton Early Years Centre – Bulletin

17th March 2022

Message from the Head Teacher:

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly thank you for all your kind messages wishing me well during recent Covid – It is so great to be back at Homerton now. Thank you to all the staff,  for running everything so smoothly in my absence.

Spring really feels it has arrived this week and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you for the Eggstravaganza event in the garden next Wednesday 23rd March.

In addition to this educational and fun event for children, we are planning to run a cake stall on the morning of 23rd March, to support the Ukrainian crisis, and the work that the Red Cross, and other charities, are doing there. Please can we ask you to bake and bring cakes and money for the morning of 23rd March. Hopefully we will raise some money, whilst also enjoying some delicious home baking!

Wishing all of our Irish families and staff members a very happy St Patrick’s Day today. Bernie and Bridget’s neice Molly has been treating all the children to some wonderful dancing displays and teaching them some Irish dancing steps.

Covid Update: Although Covid 19 is clearly still with us, a big thank you for all your efforts to keep us all safe as a community.
Topic: Irish music and dancing

Bernie shows the children the hard-bottomed tap type shoes worn for some dances.

The children across the Centre have been learning their own Irish dancing steps – why not ask your child to demonstrate what they have learnt to you?

Dates for your diary:
