Message from the Head Teacher:
BOB THE BEAR
Dear Parents
I hope you all enjoyed the Bear Hunt story trail this morning – Thank you all for coming to it. The Bear Hunt is a story that the children have got to know really well, through many and varied activities this half term, and they all seemed to enjoy sharing the experience of bringing it to life here in the garden. All the photos this week are from this morning’s session so I hope you enjoy looking at them.
Next Wednesday we are having our ‘Really Wheelie’ event, which is another opportunity for any parents who are free to help with cheering the children along as they cycle, scoot, or push a buggy around 3 laps of our Nursery garden. Please just let me know if you are able to help with this really fun event.
After half term we will be planning class trips to Nightingale Park wild garden area, (please see the date section for your classes visit day and time). We will need volunteers to help walk with the children to and from the park and to support them in doing various activities. Please sign up on the sheets outside your classrooms or talk to class staff if you can help. Your support in all that we do is so much appreciated, so thank you.
Our final trip to the Library at Rock Road is taking place next Tuesday. I would like to thank everyone for making these trips such a success – especially Fran for organising them for us. Our children have made cards both for the Central Library team and ‘The Friends of Rock Road Library’ who made us so welcome on our visits – the photos below are of the cards which I thought you might like to see.
You may have noticed our menus have changed slightly over recent weeks as we are trying to become a healthier eating school. Please do have a look at our menus and see some of the changes we have made to try and reduce artificial sugars and serve more fruit and vegetables as well as vegetarian and vegan options. |
Covid/Medical Update: We have had a case of Slapped Cheek in the Centre this week and have continued to have temperatures and coughs. |
Some of the Learning this week
All of the photos this week celebrate our core book this half term ‘We’re All Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. Today’s story trail was Homerton’s version of this story. Thank you all for joining in so enthusiastically.

Best wishes from all of us at Homerton
