Dear Parents

I hope you and your families are all ok whether attending Homerton or at home.

It was great to see so many of you enjoying this week’s Goldilocks zoom on Wednesday morning with Mitali and Jacqui – a big thank you to them, and all the staff, for all our stories and activities.

Just a reminder that a daily morning activity and evening story are available via twitter @HomertonEYC  – this can also be accessed by going to our website and scrolling down to the bottom of the home page.

You will soon be receiving a separate email explaining how to access all our home learning provision.

Please find attached the Goldilocks themed planning suggestions for the coming week. Here at Homerton some classes have already been making porridge, whilst others have been enjoying number searches in the garden.

A reminder for those families who are attending Homerton – please continue to bring in snack for us to cut up and share in individual bowls. Please ensure your child has lots of spare named clothes at Homerton as it has been very wet this week and we are running out of spare clothes. The children also need to have a pair of named wellies at Homerton.

We are planning to make some listening resources, please could you bring in clean empty lidded bottles – eg actimel bottles, squash bottles, small water bottles, 2 litre milk cartons and square shaped fruit cartons –please give them to Alex or Nest staff on the gate when you drop off your children.

Our language of the half term is Chinese – please see attached sheet for ideas for activities you might like to do as we look towards Chinese New Year in February. Dong is going to make a special appearance on an upcoming zoom playing her Gugin which is a seven string Chinese musical instrument. Thank you to her and Liz for putting together all the activities and suggestions.

I am also attaching a link to a petition to keep Early Years funded to an appropriate level – please sign if you would like to support this https://actionnetwork.org/forms/safeand funded/

If you are looking for an activity this weekend then a walk to follow the Window Wanderland  set up by the Council might be fun. The link is www.windowwanderland.com – there are some really beautiful windows to be seen in our local area with a map showing where to find them all – you could even make your own and be added to the venues to visit?

Please remember to keep your child at home if they show any signs of illness in order to keep us all as healthy and safe as possible.

Have a good weekend everyone

Best wishes

Alex and all at Homerton
