The Chicks have hatched out in our Library area!

A very warm welcome back to the Summer Term.  It has started well with all the sunshine and the arrival of our ‘Living Eggs’ on Monday. Of the 10 eggs that arrived 9 have hatched out so far and we are hoping the 10th will soon.  All the children are getting the opportunity to visit them in our Library area and I am sure they will be telling you all about their progress over the coming week.  The chicks will be visiting the classrooms next week so children have the chance to spend a bit more time with them, talking about them, observing and drawing them and learning about lifecycles first hand. If any family would particularly like to keep chickens then get in touch via the office on 01223 508766 and we can arrange for them to go to you rather than returning to their farm.

Our language for this half term is German – so please do have a look at the attachments.  Nora’s family in South room have very kindly put together information for us on special festivals and customs.  In class children will be learning a few words of German which hopefully they can teach you as well.

Parents evening for Nursery aged children is coming up during the week beginning 10th May. Classes will be putting up sign-up sheets for you choose a convenient time to attend on Monday of next week.

Just a reminder that Lateral flow testing kits are available widely so if you would like to collect a kit for the adults in your family please do. Please see attached poster for all the ways to access these test kits.

The latest ‘What’s On’ from the Local Authority is also attached if you would like to join in with any of the activities offered.

Wishing you all happy Summer term.

Best wishes

Alex and all at Homerton
