We are looking for Lunch Supervisors to work with us from September for two or more days a week. If you, or anyone else you know, might be interested in this role working with our very lovely team then please speak to me, or the office staff. This would be a good opportunity for anyone who is thinking of taking up a career in Early Years Education and Childcare as we support training of staff.

Message from the Head Teacher:

Dear Parents

I hope you all enjoyed the Bear Hunt story trail this morning – Thank you all for coming to it.  The Bear Hunt is a story that the children have got to know really well, through many and varied activities this half term, and they all seemed to enjoy sharing the experience of bringing it to life here in the garden.  All the photos this week are from this morning’s session, so I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Bob the Bear!

You may also have noticed that Helen Alderton, our school photographer, was taking some pictures of the Bear Hunt event. We are hoping to put these on the website if we have the appropriate permissions.  The children have been really enjoying having Helen in their classes this week and are fascinated by all the lighting equipment that she brings with her.  She is really good at helping children to relax when they are having photos taken. She brings her toy monkey along with her when taking photos and it often ends up on her shoulder, or head, as she snaps away making the children laugh at his antics. We will be sharing with you the details of her website and links so you can order the photos directly from her if you wish.  They are kept very securely, and once everyone who wishes to has ordered, they are deleted. Helen takes both individual and class group photos.

Next Wednesday we are having our ‘Really Wheelie’ sponsored event, which is another opportunity for any parents who are free to help with cheering the children along as they cycle, scoot, or push a buggy around 3 laps of our Nursery garden. Please just let me know if you are able to help with this fun event or just come along on the day and help. The event is a chance to sponsor your child by making a donation to our school fund.  Any money raised will go towards making new digging plots in our mud kitchen as the previous railway sleepers now need replacing. Fortunately Eloise’s Grandad in East Room has kindly offered to make the surrounds for us, but we will still need to cover the cost of the materials used to make them. Children really enjoy digging and pretend cooking in this area and staff are often given delicious cakes make of mud, twigs, leaves and blossom to enjoy!

Medical Update: Nothing in particular to report this week
Some of the Learning this week

All of the photos this week celebrate our core book this half term ‘We’re All Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. Today’s story trail was Homerton’s version of this story. Thank you all for joining in so enthusiastically.
