Message from the Head Teacher:
Dear Parents
Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Easter Raffle so please bring some money with you for the chance to win one of our fantastic raffle boxes. The tickets are £1.00 each.
Tomorrow morning between 9.30-10.30am we are holding a Coffee Morning with Bernie our special Educational Needs Coordinator. Please come along to that if you would like to.
Thank you very much for coming to our Eggstravaganza last week, it was very nice to see so many families here. I have put a number of photos in the Learning section for your to enjoy with your children.
Last Thursday was also our final trip to Rock Road Library. I hope that some of you will be able to return to enjoy the books and their beautiful garden in the future. A big thank you to The Friends of Rock Road Library team for all their support with these trips.
Having fun exploring the tunnel at Rock Road Library
East Room enjoyed a story in the garden after the chance to play
This week we are celebrating new life and Easter. We will be singing with the children tomorrow in the garden followed by them all enjoying a Hot Cross Bun. Davina, our music teacher, has also been teaching us all a special chick rhyme which you might like to do at home with your children. It goes like this… Easter Chicks
I’m a little chick (crouch down as if inside egg) Ready to hatch (wriggle) Pecking at my shell (pecking motion) Scratch, scratch, scratch (scratching action) When I crack it open Out I’ll creep (move warily out of shell) Fluff my feathers (stroke arms) Cheep, cheep, cheep! (high pitched cheeping, standing, waggle arms)
This week our Muslim families have been celebrating Eid which marks the end of Ramadan and the month of fasting. A very happy Eid to all our families celebrating.
I wanted to say a big thank you to Liliya’s Mum in East Room for organising fund raising for additional rubber matting to go in the park entrance and help with the mud. We raised a fantastic £53.00 which will buy us at least two additional mats – thank you all.
I would like to thank you for all your support this term and we look forward to seeing everyone back at Homerton on Tuesday 22nd April.

Reminders/Requests:
Last week I put a link in for the Solihull parenting courses solihullapproachparenting.com
Cambridgeshire is also offering some parenting courses and family support so I am attaching the link below which I hope you will find useful.
Just a reminder to also join your class ‘What’s App’ group if you would like to as it is the quickest way for us to get a message out to parents, at short notice, via our parent governors. It is also a lovely way to arrange social events for your children. The bar codes for the What’s App groups can be found on the board outside our main office window, so do pop in to scan these. |
