Homerton Early Years Centre Weekly Bulletin No 1 – October 3rd 2019
We are really pleased that most of the children who have joined us this year have settled in really well. If your child is finding it hard to settle please do talk to the class staff or come and see me anytime. Staff here have a wealth of experience on how to help children settle and please remember we are here to help you through this process. Last week we had some teacher trainees’ visit us from the Faculty of Education and they all commented on how calm and happy the children seemed so early on in the term which was lovely to hear.
Upcoming events for your diary
Cake Sale – Wednesday 16th October at drop off and pick up times.
Please can you bake and buy cakes for our cake sale which will take place on the 16th October. Please label the cakes which you make with their ingredients and remember we are a nut free school. The funds raised from the sale will be used towards our Pond Redevelopment as the decking area around the pond is rotten and needs redeveloping in order for the children to enjoy the pond.
Half Term is from Monday 21st October to Friday 25th October inclusive.
Holiday Club runs throughout half term 21st – 25th October so if you would like a place for your child at holiday club please speak to the office or Melody Wright.
Parents Evening and talk on ‘How we play and learn at Homerton’ Wednesday 6th November 7.30-8.45pm.
PARKING PLEA – Some parents have been parking on the yellow lines and zigzags outside Homerton at drop off and pick up times which is ILLEGAL. The lines are there so that our children can be kept safe when crossing to and from Centre. Please can you respect this and park a little further away – there is a lovely walk through the allotments from Glebe Rd next to house number 48. Glebe Road usually has parking and only takes 5 minutes…a great opportunity to chat with your children and see all the lovely things growing on the allotment – Homerton has a plot next to the path so you could even do some counting of our pumpkins which are growing there along the way!
With best wishes from all at Homerton
Alex
