Dear Parents
It was a bit of a surprise to have such a frosty start this week – the children have been enjoying looking at the frost around the Centre especially the frosted spiders webs.
I am gradually starting to learn to say ‘Good Morning’ in different languages at the Nursery gate but the children are looking at me very strangely.
However I shall persevere and please bear with me if I ask you to remind me how to say ‘Good Morning’ again in your home language.
Plant stall
We were very pleased that the plant stall was so popular – so much so that we ran out of plants! We plan to do another one in the Spring – so if you didn’t receive one this time hopefully you will in the Spring.
Challenging Behaviour Course 10th December
The County Council Child and Family worker team are running another on-line course on how to respond to challenging behaviour on 10th December in the morning.
They have some very simple, and useful, tips for parents so do go on it if you would like to. Booking is by phone on 01223 728118.
Well Being
The Local Authority sent out a very useful booklet focusing on mental health and well – being this week so I thought I would share a couple of links with you-
https://mhfaengland.org/mhfa-centre/resources/
They have also sent through some posters with tips for keeping positive, at these times, so I shall put them on the gates.
Christmas cards
Usually at this time of year children like to exchange Christmas cards within classes – Can I please request that if your child wants to give another child a card this year to do it at the gates (rather than bringing them into the Centre).
Children and sickness
If you child is ill please could you let us know, by email or phone, that they won’t be in on the morning of their first absence.
Keeping Warm
As you know we are having to keep doors and windows open all the time currently- so even though the heating is on it can get very cold.
Please ensure that your child comes with lots of layers of clothing to keep them warm through the day.
A Weekend Treat
The Cambridge University Botanical Gardens has put on a really fun and imaginative Christmas event for children called Magic and Mayhem.
If you haven’t been do book online to go and see just what the elves have been up to!
Wishing you a happy weekend whatever you are doing.
Best wishes
Alex and all at Homerton
