Dear Parents / Carers,

We are writing to introduce an exciting resource which you can use at home to play games with your children. It is an app called Easy Peasy and if you were at Homerton last year you may have some experience of it already as it was available for use during lockdown as well.

We will soon be sending you a code to invite you to register on the Easy Peasy website and once you are registered you will be sent text messages with a link to a new game each week. Each game includes a video with instructions and there are tips and ideas to make each game easier or harder depending on what works for your child. The games are mostly designed to support communication and language development as well as turn-taking skills etc. We might also play some of the games at Homerton so children will have an opportunity to share their experiences of playing them at home if they have done so.

This app is being made available to us for free via some Department for Education funding so it is a great opportunity to make use of it while we can. Because this tool is designed for early years settings to support communication and language development at home, when parents make use of the app, we can see at Homerton which games families are interested in looking at / playing and if families are interacting with the games. This gives us the opportunity to tailor content in the future, make recommendations about the games and evaluate the effectiveness of the resource as well.

Enjoy finding out about Easy Peasy and look out for your code arriving by email before the weekend!!

Best wishes
The staff at Homerton
