Homerton Weekly Bulletin 9th May 2019
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have lots of exciting events at Homerton coming up next week so here are the details for you…
BEAR HUNT Wednesday 15th May at drop off times in the morning and afternoon. Please do make time, if you can, to accompany your child on the journey of this story. The Bear Hunt is one of our core books so the children know the story really well and would love you to join them going through the swishy swashy grass etc to find the bear!
INTERNATIONAL DAY LUNCH 18th May 12.30-2.30pm. This is an opportunity to come along and enjoy celebrating different countries and cultures. There is going to be Irish dancing and Chinese poetry reading as well as other stalls/events including a guest appearance with Roy and Charlie – our Homerton dog – doing some tricks!
Apologies for this event taking place during Ramadan – unfortunately due to staff commitments over this busy term we are not able to change it but hope families may still be able to come along for some of the day.
If you would like to come to the International Day lunch please hand in your form to the office by Wednesday 15th May. Please also remember to make a dish to share on the day which should not contain any nuts.
Waitrose is kindly donating some supplies for the International Day lunch so a big thank you to them for this offer.
New Mosque on Mill Rd now open to visitors … The new mosque on Mill Rd is now open and welcoming visitors if you would like to go and see it. It is an amazing building designed by Danish architects who also designed the London Eye. Eventually there will be a café and conferencing facilities for the whole community to enjoy.
