Dear Parents Here are the highlights for the coming week… • CENTRE IS CLOSED ON MONDAY 7TH MAY AS IT IS BANK HOLIDAY. • WEDNESDAY 9TH MAY – CAKE STALL run by South Room. Please can you make and buy cakes to raise funds for outdoor equipment and allotment planting projects. • WEDNESDAY 9TH MAY is also REALLY WHEELIE TRAIL. This is a really fun sponsored event run by our parent governors for the Nursery children ONLY. Please bring a named bike, trike, scooter or whatever your child wishes to ride, or push, around the garden that day. If possible could you also bring a helmet for your child’s safety. The money raised is going towards buying some new wheeled toys or replacing parts on our current bikes and trikes. • WEDNESDAY 16TH MAY is the BEAR HUNT day …an opportunity for every family to enjoy bringing the story to life in the Homerton Garden together at drop off time. • Holiday club is fast approaching over the Half Term …so please book in if you would like a space. • Thank you to all the families and staff who helped to make the International Day such a lovely event last Saturday. We raised over £125.00 for Clic Sargent the children’s cancer charity and enjoyed some delicious food from around the world. • Many parents also attended our writing workshops this week run by Felicity Higginson. Parent Bulletin – 26.4.18

Dear Parents, The children are really enjoying the sunnier weather and the cherry tree in the main garden is looking beautiful so hopefully Summer is around the corner. Our photographer Helen has been able to take some lovely photos of children out in the garden this week. Here are just a few date reminders for things coming up which I mentioned in the recent newsletter. • Saturday 28th April – International day lunch 12.30-2.30pm. This is a lovely opportunity to try food from our International community and to see Irish dancing, and Chinese poetry reading! Get your ticket from the office if you haven’t already done so – all proceeds go to Clic Sargent a children’s cancer charity. • Thursday 3rd May – Writing workshop at 1.15-2.30pm and repeated again at 7.15pm-8.30pm. An informative event to find out how we encourage writing at Homerton with lots of practical tips and ideas. • Wednesday 9th May – Really Wheelie Trail. This is a really fun parent governor event. It is for the Nursery children only. Children are sponsored by family and friends to cycle/trike or push a buggy around the Nursery garden a number of times. This event is just for the children but if any parents would like to volunteer to help record the laps please sign your name up on the sheet outside your child’s classroom, you would need to be free from 9am-11am. Weekly Bulletin – 28 March 2018

Dear Parents, I can’t believe we are coming to the end of what has been another busy but exciting term. Hopefully Spring is around the corner and we all wish you a very Happy Easter holiday. Thank you to everyone for coming to enjoy the Eggstavaganza with us, there are some lovely photos of the event on the plasma screen in the entrance. Reminders for the coming term… HOLIDAY CLUB is running from the 9th -13th April…Please see attached leaflet for all the exciting activities that the children will be doing. Monday 16th April – is the start of the Summer Term for us. STAFF – The end of this term sees us saying goodbye to many of our Family work team as they move across to work in their new roles for the County Council or onto other exciting futures. We wish Claire Brackley, Rachel Currie, Cheryl Farrell , Katie Welham and Veronica Spiers all the very best for the future. Suzy Hughes is returning to working more hours for us in the Office and Alison Brazier is rather excitingly having a bit of a career change as she becomes a nanny to a family in her village. Thank you to them all for all their hard work for our Children’s Centre. Lorraine Lindsay, who works as a Lunchtime supervisor, is also leaving us to have a baby and start her new life with her family in London.   LUNCH SUPERVISORS NEEDED – If anyone is interested in joining our friendly lunchtime supervisor team please let the office know – the hours are 11.30-1.00pm. Weekly Bulletin – 15 March 2018

Dear Parents,   We are in our second week of having eggs/chicks which has been a really great learning experience for the children.  Each class has had the opportunity to have them in their rooms this week and do some lovely observational drawings. Here are a few reminders for the coming weeks… Wednesday 21st March – EGGSTRAVAGANZA  Please allow time at drop off to join your child on a journey round the garden exploring new life . Holiday Club – will be running from Monday 9th – Friday 13th April.  Please collect a form from the office.  Forms must handed in by Wednesday 21st March. MESSY PLAY – We will continue to run Messy Play here on a Tuesday morning 9.15-10.45 from the start of the Summer Term.  Please tell all your friends that this group will be continuing on a term time only basis.  Suzy Hughes in the office is going to run the group for us, but we are also looking for any parent volunteers who might like to help.   Please speak to Suzy in the Office, or Rinchen or Kate who are parent governors from East Room, if you are able to help. FRIDAY FRIENDS will be stopping for the Summer Term but we are hoping to run a music group, or similar, from September 2018.  Again if anyone is able to help with running a music group please speak to Suzy.
